MSH Mortgage is acutely aware and sensitive to the privacy concerns of visitors and applicants. MSH Mortgage will collect personal information from users. This is done to authenticate the user's identity and assist the user in the application and tracking of a loan, thereby providing trust and integrity throughout the mortgage process. Any questions regarding this Privacy Statement can be directed to custsvc@MSHmortgage.com.
Note: MSH Mortgage's web site contains links to other web sites. MSH Mortgage makes no representations with respect to the privacy practices, privacy statements or otherwise regarding such other web sites.
Information Gathered
MSH Mortgage does not collect any personal information from a visitor to its web site without explicitly requesting that the visitor provide it. If a visitor is just browsing MSH Mortgage's web site, MSH Mortgage does not gather any personal information about the visitor whatsoever. There are two ways in which a visitor may explicitly provide and consent to MSH Mortgage's collection of personal information.
E-mail - MSH Mortgage uses links throughout its web site to provide visitors with the opportunity to ask questions or provide comments and suggestions via e-mail. In addition, MSH Mortgage may offer a visitor the opportunity to have an MSH Mortgage mortgage specialist contact him or her personally to provide additional information about our products and services. In order to do so, MSH Mortgage may request additional personal information from the visitor that is relevant or necessary to satisfy the request.
Loan Application - During the loan application process for a mortgage loan, MSH Mortgage requests certain information from the applicant(s). In order to qualify an applicant for a mortgage loan, MSH Mortgage will require name, address, telephone numbers, e-mail address, employment and income information, assets such as bank accounts and real estate owned, a credit card number and social security number. Additional information will be requested to assist the applicant in preparing the loan application. All information requested and provided during the course of applying for a mortgage loan will be secured to the highest extent. Please refer to MSH Mortgage's Security Policy for information regarding the type of security measures taken.
Use of Information
MSH Mortgage will not use any information provided by a visitor to our site or any of the information gathered through third parties in conjunction with the processing of an applicant's loan application for any purpose other than primary purpose of providing a mortgage loan. Applicants should be aware that when any real estate transaction is closed and the deed of trust is recorded with the county recorder, that information is made public through the County Recorder's Office of the county recording the deed.
Responses and Updates - MSH Mortgage will typically respond to e-mails and other inquiries that it receives. MSH Mortgage may retain such correspondence in order to improve its services, web site and for other disclosed purposes.
Loan Application - Once the loan application has been submitted to MSH Mortgage, the same information requested and provided during the Insta-AppŠ process will be used to order a credit report on all applicants named. A third party credit-reporting agency will be used to provide this information to MSH Mortgage . Credit report information will always be safeguarded and will not be accessible via MSH Mortgage's web site.
Underwriting - All of the information gathered on the MSH Mortgage web site will be used to underwrite the applicant's loan. Again, this information will not be accessible via the MSH Mortgage web site and will be secured at all times.
Loan Closing and Funding - MSH Mortgage will continue to use the same information provided by the applicant on the MSH Mortgage web site to close and fund the applicant's loan. This process will entail providing such information in all or part to MSH Mortgage's wholesale lenders and title companies.
Assistance in the use of the MSH Mortgage web site - MSH Mortgage utilizes the IP addresses of visitors and applicants to help diagnose server problems and to administer the MSH Mortgage web site. An IP address is used to help identify the applicant and eliminate the need for redundant data entry. Our site uses cookies to keep track of the applicant's progress through the loan application process. Cookies are also used to save the applicant's password.
Security
This site has security measures in place to protect from the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under the control of MSH Mortgage. Everything that travels through cyberspace during an applicant's secured online session with MSH Mortgage becomes a list of unrecognizable numbers before entering the Internet. MSH Mortgage computers and the applicant's browser understand the mathematical formulas, called algorithms, which turn a secured online session into this scrambled numeric code and back again to meaningful information.
A symbol of a key or lock will appear on the lower bar of the applicant's screen in Netscape or Microsoft's Internet Explorer. When the key is broken or the lock is open, the applicant is not in a secured session. Likewise, if the key is not broken or the lock is latched, then it is a secured session. This scrambling of information serves as the guardian of applicants' personal information. MSH Mortgage has carefully selected Thawte as the provider of our Secured Server ID or Digital Certificate. Thawte is the international leader in providing this technology. While MSH Mortgage and the applicant's computer can easily understand the scrambled numeric code, Thawte ensures that only these two computers have the one in a billion key to break the code. To understand more about the level of security provided by Thawte please visit www.thawte.com.
